A RARE FIND IN THE LIBRARY OF THE MEDICAL AND CHIRURGICAL FACULTY OF MARYLAND

This library is especially rich in old medical volumes, not Incunabula, but epoch-miiaking works in their line and of considerable historical value. Many of these were added by purchase in the early-days of the. Library, others drifted in with gifts of books or bequests of Libraries and many came by way of the Charles Frick Libiary col-lection, being selected by Dr. Osler on. his. tripsabroad. In 1901, he secured about one hundred volumes, for this collection in Edinburgh and, while on the Continent, from Mueller, in Amsterdam; These latter form a portion of the rare books in the double-starred section. -Showing them recently to Dr. LeRoy Crummer, of Omaha, Nebraska, an ardent collector of -the old and - unusual, his eye lighted upon a-copy of Albinus "De Sede et Causa Coloris Aethiopum et Caeterorum Hominum," 1737, containing one of the few early colored plates in medicine.
