In this communication, hollow bioactive glass(BG) nanofibers were fabricated via a single-nozzle electrospinningmethod. The morphology of the prepared hollowBG nanofibers was observed by SEM and TEM, andthe results showed that BG nanofibers had a continuoushollow interior. The hollow BG nanofibers were incubatedin simulated body fluid (SBF) to investigate their apatitemineralizationability, and the result showed that after incubationfor 6 h a flower-like apatite was observed on thesurface of hollowBGnanofibers, and the Fourier transforminfrared (FTIR) result further confirmed the formation ofapatite. The results suggested that hollow BG nanofiberscould be used for drug delivery and bone regeneration applicationsdue to their unique hollow structure and bioactivity.
