摘要

The poor penetration of anti-cancer drugs into solid tumors tissue decreased the effect of chemotherapy seriously. In 2010, Kazuki N. reported in Science that coadministration of a tumor-penetrating peptide, iRGD could increase tumor vascular and tissue permeability, enhance the efficacy of anti-cancer drugs and improve the therapeutic index of drugs. The effectiveness of iRGD has drawn extensive attention since then. In this paper, we reviewed the recent progress in iRGD-based tumor intervention either by coadministration of iRGD with chemotherapy drugs or by iRGD modified drug delivery system, introduced the specific application in cancer therapy and tumor tissue imaging, and prospected its further application.
