How did you become invovled with AINDT? I applied for Technician qualifications in RT and UT in 1991. I think PT and MT followed in 1 992. How long have you been involved with the AINDT NDT Certification Board? Probably around 10 Years. I was a member of the Applications Committee for many years. The Applications Committee is a subcommittee of the Certification Board. When I first started, we met in person twice a year so applicants for certification had to wait up to 6 months for their certification. Each application was sent as hard copy to each member of the Applications Committee, and then we all carted our stacks of paper to the AINDT office for the meeting. We gradually moved to monthly telephone meetings, and eventually moved the application documents to soft copy over the web. The current applications system works very smoothly with better forms, better administration, and an average turn around time of 8 days.
