Employing more than 5,000 people in 13 countries, NMHG designs, manufactures, sells and supports the Hys-ter and Yale forklift truck brands. The company, the third largest player in the global lift truck market, has regional product development centres in the US, Italy, the Netherlands and Japan. It also operates a dedicated R&D facility in Basingstoke, UK, where a small team of engineers creates and tests the technologies and concepts destined for future generations of vehicles. The Basingstoke facility conducts a broad range of test activities, ranging from lab tests on static equipment or individual components to full-scale evaluations in realistic working conditions. The R&D centre is equipped with its own racking and loading bays, allowing the engineers to replicate the working cycle of lift trucks with absolute fidelity.
