Egyptian Pres. Mohammed Hosni Mubarak, 81, was, as this edition went to press on August 17,2009, beginning what may well be his last significant visit to the US. It was, from his perspective, a vital mission: to ensure US support for the succession of his son, Gamal Mubarak, to the Egyptian Presidency. Pres. Mubarak undertook the mission when it became clear that his health was failing.rnIt will not be smooth sailing. Pres.
