The role of the Driver Training Wing (DTW) at DST Leconfield is to train our phase 2 and 3 service personnel so that they are best prepared for their roles in units, ie. being fit for purpose on operations. For many it is a stepping stone to their next level of training, which will be Pre-Deployment Training (PDT). This is training for 'War' - the operation or mission where a particular unit, or individual, has been warned for deployment. As the frequency of operational tours is increasing, we in DTW endeavour to train our students and deliver them to their units as quickly as possible, but without compromising standards.
