Interoperability is a key feature of the operation in Afghanistan, and among national forces contributing to ISAF, those of the Republic of Slovenia provide an invaluable perspective into the roles being taken by the smaller nations within the NATO Alliance. DM] was fortunate to be able to speak to Slovenia's State Secretary of Defence, Uros Krek on the role of the Slovenian Armed Forces in Afghanistan and its national priorities in defence.
