A broken covenant?

In the simplest of terms, the Military Covenant is an understanding between the Crown, Parliament and the nation on the one hand and the armed forces on the other. The basis of the understanding is that in return for serving their country and risking their lives in the process, the armed forces are entitled to a priority claim on the unstinted respect, generosity and care of the nation during their service and for themselves and their dependent families thereafter.
