As a response to the demands of military personnel worldwide, whilst protecting them from the increasing risk of significant levels of noise induced hearing loss, 3M has launched the Peltor Comtac XP electronic ear defenders and headsets and the 3M CombatArms In Theatre Ear Plug. This continues a long history of Peltor providing hearing protection and communications equipment to the military that has lasted for 62 years, since Tore Palmaer, who had been a member of the Swedish Air Force, founded the company with the vision to provide ground crew headsets that would remove surrounding noise enabling them to communicate easier.
