Anatomy of our state

The nation has recently witnessed the spectacle of Local Bodies elections. Leaving aside the claims and counter claims of the contesting political parties in the hypocritically billed Non party polls and even the spin doctoring of the government, it was obvious to one and sundry that the whole exercise was a free for all which amply demonstrated to the nation that we live under a dispensation which subscribes to the theory that "Might is Right" with rigging galore from pre-poll to post-poll, in fact even post-result. Instead of being pragmatic and realistic the present regime, for some unfathomable reason most unwisely decided to sideline, marginalize and keep out of the loop the two most popular parties, the Pakistan Peoples Party and the Muslim League of Nawaz Sharif.
