Western Psy War against the Muslim World

摘要

Balkanization of the Muslim World was conceived as part of a divisive propaganda strategy. The practioners of psychological operations have come to realize that conversionary propaganda, where one tries to change the emotional allegiance of a believer into a different belief system, is not always so easy, and very often it meets resistance. It is therefore, deemed expedient that a group or a nation which is to be rendered weak and relatively insignificant in the power arena of the world, has to be systematically brain-washed into accepting narrower identities— parochial, linguistic, ethnic, racial and sectarian. Durkheim, a noted sociologist advanced a concept of "anomie", which depicts a state of normlessness, and an individual's inability to relate himself with other members of his society, lacking the will for attainment of common goals and objectives.
