When are things not bad in Pakistan? We seem to be permanently at the crossroads of some crisis, every direction leading into quicksand. Pervez Musharraf did provide us with a glimmer of hope in his first three years, but soon after 9/11, with US support for his continuity guaranteed, his tone and tenor toward his responsibilities to the nation changed dramatically, thereafter it became a series of compromises designed to ensure his longevity in power. I count his downfall from the time of death of GA (Lt Gen Ghulam Ahmad) than his Principal Staff officer (PSO) in a road accident.
