US Pakistan relationship has had its share of zeniths and nadirs since the unequal alliance was forged more than half a century ago. Currently it is undergoing a really stormy phase and appear to be heading south at a rapid pace. But appearances may be deceptive and Pakistan, the junior partner and the weaker party, needs to comprehend the fundamental dynamics that is governing the current behaviour of USA if the relationship is to be prevented from further deterioration, which would be detrimental to the interest of both.
