One recurring problem the 12-volt industry faces is a lack of consumer awareness of what our products can do. But there is a powerful tool that not only reduces consumer confusion but also elevates excitement at the same time: the in-vehicle demonstration. Although there should always be a full-size demo vehicle at your store, sometimes it is being used to grab screws at Home Depot or lunch at Wendy's. Installation technicians should have their rides in tip-top shape for demos. But in reality, life gets in the way, and sometimes, panels are naked when they should be covered. Techs always have a project in limbo-which usually does not bode well for potential customers. Also, regrettably, some salespeople are just too lazy to give an in-vehicle demonstration to every customer-especially when the weather sucks.
