Food safety issues are still on the Brussels agenda

Coming cen years after its introduction to prevent the spread of BSE, the European Union is now lifting the ban imposed on exports of British beef. Beef farmers in the UK will welcome this, as they will in future be able to share in the lucrative export trade. When exports do resume, this will be hugely beneficial to UK livestock farmers and should provide a well deserved boost to the UK farm economy.
