Tetra Pak establishes Chinese plant with green credentials

Running on 100% renewable energy, Tetra Pak has announced the inauguration of its newest packaging material plant in Hohhot, northern China. The new Inner Mongolian plant, in which it has invested €60 million, is one of its most advanced manufacturing facilities for aseptic carton packages, according to the company. The plant plans to save 16,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide due to the estimated consumption of 20 million kWh of green power instead of fossil fuels - primarily from wind power.
