Leading Swiss dairy Emmi has purchased Italian dessert specialist A-27 from Rancio Valcuvia. Emmi has been developing its dairy dessert branch for a considerable time and says the acquisition of A-27 will help the Swiss company to expand its expertise in this field and strengthen its position for desserts in key markets. A-27 aims its products at the premium end of the market, both under the high profile Bonta Divina label (45%) and as privace-label produces (55%), and markets in 25 countries. Says Emmi CEO Urs Riedner: "Bonta Divina, the number one in Italy's premium desserts, is an excellent fit with Emmi and will be a strategically important platform for us. With this business we can further develop our position in our key international markets and continue with our growth stracegy."
