At first it was a case of false certificate of origin (DOP) labelling on Italian buffalo milk mozzarella cheeses said to be from the Mandara group of dairies. The investigating police then said they had found links between one of the owners, Giuseppe Mandara, and the Naples Camorra (a criminal organisation). Mandara has now been arrested and €100m in funds confiscated.
