A world united in dairy

Last month was a momentous one for the dairy industry. On 1 June (or thereabouts), we celebrated World Milk Day. What I like about this particular event is that there is no typical overarching theme for the day, except to enjoy and highlight milk - if people and farmers want to get together and have a glass of the white stuff, or listen to a speech, or have a fun run, that's fine. Milan's Expo had a dress code on 29 May, for example. White was the desired colour, of course. Along with World School Milk Day, these two events highlight the integral place milk holds in many societies globally.
