The Dutch are a cheese-loving nation, producing 650 million kg every year. At A-ware Food Group's Netherlands facility in Zeewolde, production is around the clock, packing and palletising cheese. It produces and distributes over 240 million consumer packages per year. The firm recently installed a second line fitted with Fanuc robots to increase output. As a result of numerous mergers and acquisitions in the last five years, the family run business has expanded. In 2014 it collaborated with New Zealand dairy cooperative Fonterra, opening a state-of-the-art warehouse and logistics plant in Zeewolde. From here, Dutch and foreign cheeses are matured on site in climate-controlled conditions, before they are cut, grated, cubed, packed, labelled and distributed. The warehouse capacity enables the cheese-packing firm to guarantee customers 48-hour delivery to anywhere in Europe.
