Some years it's about the international entries and this year, it's about eternal bridesmaid cheese Gouda gaining acclaim. Jerseyhoeve Schorren from Treur Kaas was the top cheese at the International Cheese Awards at Nantwich, which saw a total of 5,000 entries from around the world vie for the top prize of supreme champion. Nearly half of the cheeses (47 per cent) were from overseas, the organisers say. The cheese collected more than one award. The Champion Overseas, Supreme Champion and winner of the Westminster Cup was also awarded to Treur Kaas' aged Jerseyhoeve Schorren.
