The algorithm of calculation of the theoretically expected segregation in F_2 was developed based on experimental data of genetic analysis of common wheat introgressive lines with respect to the character "hairy leaf sheath" controlled by the cuckoo chromosome 4S~1. The segregation distortion is due to nonviability of the majority of gametes lacking chromosome 4S~1. The frequency of viable gametes without this chromosome is determined by the value p, and not by the theoretically expected ratio of 7 unviable : 9 viable. To calculate p, by the maximum likelihood method, the theoretical ratio of 15 hairy : 1 hairless and 16 F_2 populations from crossing lines differing in hairiness were used.
