Singing the Songs of Project Experience: Patterns and Retrospectives

Have you ever been on a software project that you'd want to repeat in exactly the same way? Neither have we. But on every project, some things that go well ― some actions and practices ― are worth repeating. Often the impacts of those critical choices and actions pass unnoticed, except by the person who chose a particular alternative or course of action. Those insights aren't part of the group conversation. As a result, the individual may learn, but the benefit of the learning is confined to that individual's sphere of influence.
