The Carrier Experience AT&T Tells Its WebRTC Story

AT&T is the first U.S. carrier to launch commercial support for WebRTC. On Jan. 5, 2015, AT&T launched the AT&T Enhanced WebRTC API. The API is in a beta state right now. It is available to any developers who would like to add voice and video calling to their applications. Interested developers just need to sign up for the AT&T Developer Program at developer. att.com, and they can start using it. AT&T is not targeting developers who want to create voice- and video-centric applications, although the API can certainly be used for that, and some of our early adopters have done that. Instead, we are targeting all developers because we see the potential with WebRTC to enhance existing apps with voice and video to make it easier for developers' end users to communicate and share with one another.
