摘要

African languages literature has been accused by some scholars of being ‘childish’ and ‘immature’, and a number of factors have been suggested as causes for this. In this article I explore this issue using two novels published post-apartheid. While I do concede that the novels are not at the highest possible standard, I argue that they do not deserve to be labelled immature or childish.View full textDownload full textKeywordsAfrican languages, literature, ‘post-apartheid’, contemporary issuesRelated var addthis_config = { ui_cobrand: "Taylor & Francis Online", services_compact: "citeulike, netvibes, twitter, technorati, delicious, linkedin, facebook, stumbleupon, digg, google, more", pubid: "ra-4dff56cd6bb1830b" }; Add to shortlist Link Permalink http://dx.doi.org/10.1080/1013929X.2012.645359
