HKEx and Shenzhen stock exchanges sign closer cooperation agreement

Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Ltd (HKEx) and Shenzhen Stock Exchange (SZSE) signed a closer cooperation agreement last month which commits them to work together more closely towards the common goals of meeting the domestic and international fund-raising needs of Chinese enterprises and contributingrnto the greater development of China's economy. HKEx and SZSE have a long-standing working relationship and have co-operated in a number of areas over the years. HKEx hopes to contribute to the common goals by sharing its experience in implementing international standards and best practices, and what it hasrnlearned from its exposure to issuers and investors from overseas. It also hopes to learn how it can best support the Qualified Domestic Institutional Investor scheme which allows mainland people and institutions to buy financial products overseas through commercial banks and other financial institutions on the mainland.
