HEALTH AND SAFETY PRE-QUALIFICATION SCHEMES

There has always been a requirement for Clients and Principle Contractors to ensure that the Subcontractors they use are competent in health and safety the CDM 2007 regulations have set out in detail how this can be done. Over the last few years a number of schemes were set up by a number of organisations to 'accredit' Sub-contractors competence in health and safety, this meant that Sub-contractors working for a number of different Principle Contractors on different sites were having to be accredited by a number of different firms that was not only very time consuming and expensive, but annoyingly much of the work was providing exactly the same information to the different companies each of which needed paying for checking the information.
