1.25 MILLION EMPLOYERS TO BENEFIT FROM NI EMPLOYMENT ALLOWANCE

The Government has announced that every business and charity in the UK will be entitled to a £2,000 Employment Allowance from April 2014, which will help to reduce their employer National Insurance Contributions (NICs) each year. The allowance aims to remove the barriers faced by small businesses that wish to grow, by supporting them with the costs of employment. It is believed that up to 1.25 million employers will benefit from the scheme, with over 90% of the savings going to small businesses with fewer than 250 employees. 450,000 small businesses will no longer pay Class 1 secondary NICs in 2014-15 and, on average, employers with fewer than ten employees over the course of the year will see their employer NICs bill reduced by 80%.
