As finance professionals, we spend a lot of time looking at metrics, key performance indicators, ratios, and costs. Software tools provide us with an unlimited amount of data, giving us the ability to twist and turn information like a Rubik's Cube. Measuring critical data points can help us identify success or pain inside our organization. But what can be more challenging to quantify - and what is often overlooked - is the effectiveness of human talent. Attracting and retaining top talent is on the mind of every leader. Filling positions within your department's budget can be challenging, and sometimes it feels like having anybody in the seat is better than having nobody. But what happens when you focus on hiring the right person? Take this one step further, and what happens to an organization's success when every single person inside your organization is the right fit - not just a few of them, but every single person, 100 percent, from top to bottom? Add on top of that a team of people who truly trust one another and before you know it, everyone in the boat is rowing in the same direction.
