With more than 500,000 cu m of concrete expected to be pumped into the mines, 470,000 cu m at the stabilisation points and a further 70,000 cu m to fill the roadways, the site team were keen to cut down on the volume of delivery trucks thundering through the village of Combe Down. Coupled with the difficulty of pumping concrete long distances, the Hydrock team was more than happy to listen to Trevor Ansell and David Aldridge, directors of foamed concrete specialist Propump.
