Public sector set for fresh carbon limits

Energy-intensive businesses already have an incentive to cut energy consumption as they have to belong to the EU Emissions Trading Scheme. They might also be party to a Climate Change Agreement which can deliver savings against the climate change levy on non-domestic energy purchases. Within a couple of years, all Government departments, as well as many other large public and private sector organisations, will have to participate in a similar energy trading scheme called the Carbon Reduction Commitment.
