Fresh round of price hikes set to hit sector

Buyers face a new round of polymer price increases with effect from the beginning of June as the cost driven spiral shows no sign of easing. Both styrenic and poly-olefin materials are the subject of a series of increases. In polypropylene, market leader LyondellBasell has announced an increase of EUR40 (￡32) a tonne from June. This is based on escalating feedstock and energy costs which have been hitting margins since the beginning of the year.
