Doyle edging closer to signing key concrete contract on Shard

Concrete firm John Doyle has been appointed to carry out value engineering on the Shard of Glass building in London. Contractors for this package and the M&E work have still not been finalised by the Teigh-more consortium which is behind the 310 m-high tower. The firm has been carrying out value engineering on the job for a while but it was only formally appointed to the work last week. Doyle's contract is believed to last until the end of August and the firm will carry out the work alongside project manager Turner & Townsend and cost consultant Davis Langdon.
