2012 Games design deal for Atkins

Atkins has been appointed as the engineering design services provider for the London 2012 Olympic Games, helping to deliver competition venues and back-of-house support.rnThe contract, for the London Organising Committee of the Olympic Games and Paralympic Games, will include temporary venues at Horse Guards Parade, Greenwich Park and Hyde Park, St James' Park in Newcastle, Hampden Park in Glasgow, the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff and some venues inside the East London park. Non-competition, training and logistics infrastructure is also part of the deal.rnAtkins, which has been part of the design team for the Olympic Park site-wide infrastructure since late 2005, will provide advice on building services design, civil and structural engineering, acoustics, fire and accessibility.
