The firm was hopeful of picking up Rok's repair and maintenance and Decent Homes contracts in London, Essex and Hertfordshire. On Friday, Balfour Beatty subsidiary Mansell bought the majority of Rok's remaining business for ￡7 million, saving 381 jobs. Outsourcing specialist Mitie has announced a 12 per cent jump in profits as it looks to secure more public sector contracts.
