Major project Work is ongoing on the EA's Nottingham Left Bank flooding scheme. The agency is carrying out flood defence improvement works at several locations along the left bank (north) of the River Trent in Nottingham, as part of a ￡50 million scheme to improve flood protection along 27 km of the river between Sawley and Colwick. Jackson Civil Engineering is the civil contractor on the project. Work got underway on site in June 2009 and is expected to be finished by the end of 2012.
