Internal Health and Safety documents show a sudden spike in construction fatalities that a senior safety figure says should "raise alarm bells" across the industry. Preliminary figures presented at the latest Health and Safety Executive board meeting showed there were 13 construction fatalities in October and November last year. This compares with 18 fatalities in the six months prior, which had been viewed as a sign of significant progress.
