Extra planning power for 36 more councils

A fourth wave of councils has been given new neighbourhood planning powers by the Department for Communities and Local Government. Planning minister Greg Clark revealed the names of another 36 councils that will be testing out new powers being introduced under the Localism Bill. Among these powers is the right for communities to grant a blanket planning permission without developers having to submit separate applications.
