He might be forgiven for turning his back on construction, but former Partnerships for Schools chief executive Tim Byles believes he has found a way to get public sector bodies building again. This summer he selected up to six contractors to work with his newventure Cornerstone, following his departure from PfS, which is set to be axed by the government. He says he has more firms interested in working for Cornerstone than he can use.
