摘要

A joint venture has been agreed between Peel Environmental and UK Coal which could lead to the construction of 11 new energy-from-waste plants across the North-east and the Midlands. Peel Environmental, a subsidiary of Manchester-based Peel Energy, stressed that the plans were at an early stage, but said the joint venture could lead to the announcement of some "exciting projects" soon. UK Coal shareholders voted in favour of the move last week, which could see infrastructure worth hundreds of millions of pounds built on sites with developed transport links.
