Events square up to replace SED

The cancellation of SED has left 2011, and other non-Hillhead years, without a working plant show. Now the Construction Equipment Technology Alliance (CETA) has announced it is to hold Demonstration Days on 15 and 16 June at Uttoxeter Race Course in Staffordshire. CETA has been formed by Halomec, MOBA mobile Automation, GKD Technik and OnGrade its new show is designed to demonstrate and promote the enabling technology offered by its members.This ranges from onboard weighing to full 3D machine control, and includes safety-related items such as proximity warning systems and rated capacity indicators. OnGrade director Gary Escott says: "In the future it is possible we may see a CETA pavilion at major shows to provide a focal point for customers interested in business improvement technologies." Later this year, The Big Plant and Offroad Show will take place at Dunsfold Park near Guildford, which has a permanent dedicated four-wheel drive test course.
