Construction companies must appoint more women to their boardrooms if they are to avoid new legislation, business figures have warned. A government-commissioned report by former trade minister Lord Davies, titled Women on Boards, last week recommended a major shake-up of the recruitment process with a view to increasing diversity. Women currently account for only 12.5 per cent of directors of JTSE 100 firms, and based on current trends it would take 70 years before women held half of all posts available.
