Proper planned maintenance of wearing road surfaces could help cut the number of motorcycle accidents on the country's highway network, experts have claimed. Motorcyclists have highlighted maintenance problems, poor road design and surface conditions alongside speed and human error as contributory factors in causing the majority of accidents. Riders at representative body the Federation of European Motorcycling Associations have called on road designers, contractors and maintenance managers to help cut the number of fatal accidents involving motorcyclists.
