A modular prefabricated steel construction system will enable steelwork contractors to manage the entire frame package, its manufacturer claims. Steel specialists using the Corefast prefabricated steel lift core system are now able to manage the entire frame building programme without handing over the vital core construction package to concrete subcontractors. The system uses Tata Steel's Bi-Steel panels to construct a steel core frame that is then filled with mass concrete. In effect, the steel outer panels become sacrificial formwork,with the concrete providing the necessary fire resistance.
