Boards' pay rises by a third at top 10 firms as wages fall

The boards of the top 10 contractors saw their pay rise by a third as average wage bills fell across their companies, exclusive analysis from CN100 has revealed. The average total pay for boards of directors across the top 10 CN100 firms was £3.3m - almost a third higher than the £2.5m for their previous financial years. However, the average employee salary, which includes directors' pay, across the top 10 declined by 1.2 per cent on the previous year to £36,963.
