Product manufacturers enjoyed a positive start to the year, boosted by exports, but rising costs hinder prospects, according to the latest Construction Products Association State of Trade survey. Manufacturers reported rises in sales volumes, both year on year and quarter on quarter, with differences in trading conditions between light- and heavy-side product manufacturers moderating slightly in Q1 2012.
