USING THE BCSA TO FIND A COMPETENT STEELWORK CONTRACTOR

Prequalif ying steelwork contractors for tenders can be easily done using the membership list of the BCSA, or the Register of Qualified Steelwork Contractors Scheme for Bridgeworks (RQSC). Approximately 100 steelwork contractors are BCSA members. Each are assessed by the BCSA against their capabilities in 14 categories of building steelwork and eight sub-categories of bridge construction. The categories give guidance on what type of steelwork activities the company is competent to undertake, which relates to the company's work facilities, its track record and its technical and management experience.
