Costain tops table as activity rises on a year earlier

The top 50 contractors for June 2013 scooped more than 40 per cent more work by value than the same period last year, with Costain heading the table for the month. The leading firms won £2.51bn of work compared with £l.77bn in June 2012, according to construction business intelligence unit Glenigan. There were also 45 more projects awarded in June 2013 than 12 months earlier. A month-on-month comparison also reveals growth, with awards for May 2013 having been worth just under £2.3bn.
