Reuniting town and coast at Colwyn Bay

It was tourism that helped make Colwyn Bay the second largest centre of business and population in North Wales. Now though, the once Grade II-listed tourist attraction Victoria Pier is closed to the public, while the promenade has suffered from constant attack by the sea. Conwy County Borough Council is desperate to help inject a new lease of life into the seafrontby revamping the promenade, creating a watersports leisure centre and community facility and trying to reconnect the town with its seafront under its wide-ranging Bay Life+ programme.
